Biomedical Science Blog post- Yari E.

I decided to choose biomed, it was my first time working on a biomedical project and it wasn’t as hard as I expected. We had to build a prosthetic leg out of materials in the class room. We used a block of wood as the foot and a tube of hard material as a leg also glue, paint, tape, and bubble wrap as patting and a long piece of rope. The goal of this project was to build a prosthetic leg for a disabled person, but my goal was for it to actually work.

During the progress of building our leg I used new tools that I have not used during that class for example a drilling tool and the wood glue. I used the drill for the wholes that we needed for the rope. Also during this project we needed a lot of communication throughout our group for the project. I did most of the building but the ideas came from my group. It didn’t take us that much of time to build our leg it was pretty easy but fun no doubt about that.

While building the leg we were working on other projects like tracing out topographic map on the computer. Also I started to work on my reflection. Tracing the map takes a lot of work and patience and we have to take our time.

We were able to take some steps with the prosthetic leg even though it was difficult but we had a fun time building it and we finished building it.

Overall I learned many new things such as learning how to use different tools for different things and also communicating more with the group I work with.
