What this module all about?

This six weeks my group and I did the videography module. The main idea of this module was for us to learn how to make a short film, while using important equipment like cameras and a tripod. We also learned about important rules for shooting a film like “The rule of thirds.” And how to edit and add audio to our film.

Making the film

We had to make a short movie about our school, and we had to record ourselves saying the mission statement. First we made up a plan of what we were going to film, so we didn’t waste a lot of time trying to figure out what we wanted to film. The places that we recorded, had to do with our mission statement. A part of our mission statement says “… Dedicates itself to prepare young women to attend and graduate from college.” for this part we recorded the college center and a class. We really wanted our movie to reflect what our mission statement says about our school.

 My Experience

When I first read the instructions, and what we had to do, I wasn’t sure if we were going to be able to make a good movie. I was a little scared to edit because it was something i’d done a little bit of and I wasn’t really sure how imovie worked. Filming went really good because my teammates, knew what they were doing so they helped me if I needed help. When we edited our movie, all four of us were kind of scared to play around with imovie, but after we learned how to do it, we found out that it was actually really easy. This has been my favorite module that i’ve done so far.
